Engineer Tim's Music and Mahem
Well, I've gotten a couple of shows under my belt and am pretty darned happy!!! Especially as
I use my time on the air to also work on technical things at the station. College radio is great because I am not bound to many of the rules that apply to the commercial shows I've done in my 25 years as a morning man. There is an expectation from the listeners that WALF BE DIFFERENT from commercial stations. I love it.
Now I haven't gone out on any huge musical limbs yet because I am re-orienting myself to what's out there. I sure could use your help!! Please email or call me with your suggestions and requests. Shoot me an email at kb2rmc@aol.com or call me at the studios at 871.2200. Some of the artists I have featured on Monday nights: Sonic Youth, Betty's Not A Vitamin, Something Happens, B 52's, Paul Anka (covering metal songs), Sex Pistols, and rare Smashing Pumpkins.
I also look forward to bringing some celebrity interviews to my show and to those of my peers if they wish. I've built many relationships and neat contacts over 25 years and would love to share them with you, via the radio of course. Keep your grubby paws off my Rolodex ;-) Fans of www.infowars.com may be interested to know that I am trying to book Alex Jones or one of his incredible staff to do our show. Soon we will be talking with some of the guys from Betty's Not A Vitamin. And we may even be able to have a mini "Town Hall of The Air" with democratic congressman from the 29th cd Eric Massa. The list of potential guests is endless.
- Technical Update:
Other technical things we are looking at is the overhaul of the studio and transmitting facilities. WALF made some major purchases a few years ago but it can do alot more than it is surrently configured to do. Cody, Shooter (aka Angry Dan the former Humans vs Zombies fan) and I will be doing some major re-work to make the mechanics run as smootly and reliably as possible and make WALF's signal even more appealing to the listeners, be they listening via the Magical Marconi or the internet stream. If you have particular skills in the electronics department and would like to volunteer your assistance, we'd love to have you! If for no other reason, it keeps Shooter off of the Colbert Report ;-)
I look forward to being heard on the air Mondays from 8-10pm. I also look forward to hearing from you. In the mean time, check out www.pandemicfluonline.com , catch at least 30 mins of direct sunshine, load up on the vitamins C+D, and wash your hands alot!!
